Who is responsible

This site is operated by Callbook, the company behind the Callbook platform. Callbook’s full Privacy Policy applies to this site; where this notice is more specific, this notice describes what actually happens here. Questions go to privacy@getcallbook.com.

What we collect, and when

Browsing and searching

  • The service, the problem you choose and the ZIP code you enter, to check coverage and to run a web search for other local businesses. Only those three things are sent to the search provider.
  • Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, kept for security and to keep the site running.
  • Your answers to the two pre-search questions are stored in your browser tab only and expire within a day. They are not sent to us until you send a request.

Sending a request

  • Your name, the contact method you choose (email or phone), ZIP code, your answers, requested timing, notes and, when the request is for a visit, the service address.
  • Optional photos you attach. Attachments are private to authorized Callbook reviewers and the business that takes the job, and are removed after 90 days.
  • A request reference (starting with CB-) so you can ask about it later.

Creating an optional account

  • Your email address, verified by a code we send you, so you can see your request summaries and review status. Guests get the same service without an account.

How we use it

  • To review your request, check coverage and pass the details needed for service to the business that will do the work, or to a Callbook network partner when a partner covers your area.
  • To contact you about that request using the method you chose. Giving a contact method is not consent to marketing; we do not add you to a newsletter.
  • To tell you when coverage reaches your ZIP, only if you asked us to.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.

Who sees it

  • The business assigned to your request (a business listed on Callbook or a network partner) receives the details needed to estimate and perform the work.
  • Service providers that host the site, store attachments, send email and text messages, and run the web search, under contracts that limit them to providing those services.
  • Authorities when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

  • Photos: removed after 90 days.
  • Requests and contact details: kept while the request is open and for as long as needed to handle follow-ups, disputes and legal requirements, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Account email: for as long as the account exists. Ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Server logs: a short rolling period for security.

Your choices and rights

You can use the site without an account and without photos. You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted by writing to privacy@getcallbook.com with your request reference or the email or phone number you used. California residents have the rights described in Callbook’s Privacy Policy; we do not sell personal information.

Children

This site is for adults arranging home services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
